Yes! You can assign up to 5 customizable trigger words and emojis per Shop The Look-enabled Look. This allows you to personalize the word which you’ll ask your audience to comment in order to receive the automated DMs, to better match the content you’re posting.
REMINDER: Currently, you can customize trigger words for all Looks on the Collective Voice mobile app only.
Here's how:
- Create your Look.
- Set up the trigger words you’d like to assign to the shoppable content in your Look.
- Think: “GLOW” for a Morning Makeup Look, “OFFICE” for a Home Office Makeover, “SUNNY” for Beach Day Essentials.
- Share the exact image from your Look on Instagram, and make sure to include all of the trigger words in your caption
- (“Comment GLOW to get this Morning Makeup Look!”)
- Sharing a Reel? Make sure you include this exact image as your Reel’s cover photo.
What are some best practices around personalized trigger words?
When setting up personalized trigger words per Look, keep the following in mind:
- When selecting a trigger word, choose short, relevant, specific keywords that align with your content.
- When assigning an emoji as your trigger word, choose one that can be easily searched for and identified within your followers’ keyboards.
- Each Look can have up to 5 trigger words (and emojis) assigned to it. If you’re wary of any potential misspellings from your followers, set up your trigger words to include variations of the key word that you’ll be informing your followers to comment.
- Think: “HAIR”, “HAR”, “HAI” or “LIPS”, “LIP”
